The Green Ridge Trail is a gem for how lush, peaceful, and hidden it is from the crowds. It’s an 18 mile out-and-back trail that features vibrant wildflowers, lush greenery, majestic mountain views, and a gorgeous fire lookout. Located just a couple miles from the Black Butte Trailhead, this trailhead is tucked in the trees off Forest Road 11 and can be difficult to find, so make sure you map it out in advance.

The first 4.5 miles is a gradual 1,200 feet climb on singletrack amongst the manzanitas and evergreens. Once you reach the top, the majority of your climbing is done. The trail varies from singletrack to doubletrack and winds around massive Douglas Firs as you traverse Green Ridge.
